Hi all,
Just signed up, as looking at picking up a Lude this weekend, it's a 1997 2.0l model, but I haven't done much research yet so not sure what to expect really.
Hoping people on here can let me know what I am in for? lol.
Anything that is must check on these motors etc when viewing? Engine is about 100k so obviously not expecting a brand new car but looks tidy, so hopefully been really well looked after etc.
Looks like it's been a little modified, air filter, exhaust but no other mention in terms of engine mods etc.
What are the must checks on these motors?
Cheers

welcome in buddy as long as all the dash lights come on and go off and there is no obvious rust issues it should be ok deeper checks will involve the fuel filler pipe under the passenger rear arch make sure the sunroof drains are clear

Any suggestions on what I should be checking when going to look and buy etc? Want to make sure I don't get pulled over. lol.
Sunroof drains? Excuse my ignorance, no idea what this or they are! lol. I could probably guess of course, but always good to check! lmaomercutio wrote:welcome in buddy as long as all the dash lights come on and go off and there is no obvious rust issues it should be ok deeper checks will involve the fuel filler pipe under the passenger rear arch make sure the sunroof drains are clear

the sunroof lets water in no matter how well it seals so it has a drip tray the drip tray has four drain tubes that run down each pillar and exits in the wheel arches

Ah not too far then. A local Honda tech to hand
. These ludes have a habit of blocking up the 4 corner drain tube exits. Then flooding the car
. (Not that badly but a 'leak' will ensue).

One way of getting rid of the water I guess! lol. Given the current weather, I suspect issues will show up pretty quickly. lmao. Are they easy to check? What should I do to check them? Pour water in the drip tray? lol.mercutio wrote:the sunroof lets water in no matter how well it seals so it has a drip tray the drip tray has four drain tubes that run down each pillar and exits in the wheel arches
