A remanufactured Lucas Alt is the new one.
My dead alt that make the battery light go out is OEM Honda.

You need to follow pages 80-81 of the 5th gen manual chap. Do you have a spare under bonnet fuse box? Because it has a built in ELD unit and can cause faults with voltage/charging light on ;)

The lights is on from the moment you turn the engine on and dont go out if you rev it to 3k. Wont rev it higher because its not remapped.
But at idle voltage is 14.2v on the alt and battery and when revved it does drop to 12.8-13.5v.
When all electrics on loading the alt voltage it 14.2v still but drops with revs.

When i put the old alt in the light goes out. But voltage is then below 12v only at the battery. Only 2-3v at the alt.

Yer already looked at that. Seems to keep bringing me to the wires shorting however light goes out with old alt.
It must be a fault with the new alternator sending the ELD a wrong signal puting the light on, despite there not being a problem.
Well we will see soon enough.
When i 1st put the new alt on everything was fine and it ran goo even with engine running. No lights.
