Re: Merlin's 4G Time Attack Lude- Dyno tune
No he couldn't fix my flat spots. He also commented that it was almost not worth it as they were not that bad.
I'll see tomorrow what the Hypertech dyno says as that will explain a lot. I would like to see it make more than 223 on their dyno.

Prelude to SLS
Big thanks to 3rd gen steve and Venzep for helping getting the car ready for tomorrow. We had another long day today
So...... The car was back at Hypertech to go on the dyno. The car made almost exactly the same as before. The Hypertech dyno recorded the car at 180whp. This means that I am moving down a class into E as I have a whp/T of 146. This also means that my competition will be 3 Clio's, 2 Fiesta's and a BMW Compact Cup, rather than some more fierce cars in class D

Some pics with more stickers to go on tomorrow. My SLS sticker pack didnt turn up.

After the breif, scrutineering and two practice sessions the day should go down like this:

Super Lap Scotland wrote:Practice, Qualifying and Starting:
Timed Qualifying will consist of a minimum of 4 laps as follows; 1 Out lap, 2 timed
Flying laps and 1 In lap. Times recorded in the Qualifying session will determine the running order for the Fi
nal timed run, for which the fastest 5 competitors from each class will qualify. For the Final timed run competitors will be started from the Pitlane exit. Timing will commence when the vehicle crosses the Timing Control Line beam in front of the Timekeepers building, and will finish at the same point 1 lap (1.3 miles / 2.09km) later. Each competitor will complete 1 full timed lap of the circuit to record a time used to determine the Final Results, before exiting the Circuit via the Pitlane Entrance.

Good shout

@vtectom it's just how the class system works for SLS.
There's no lower limit to class E, that's why he's against Clios etc. Assuming the SLS website is inaccurate also as you said whp/T and the above is of course bhp/T. At least you're at the top of the class, Merlin!Pro: > 450 bhp per tonne
A: 376 - 450 bhp per tonne
B: 301 - 375 bhp per tonne
C: 226 - 300 bhp per tonne
D: 151 - 225 bhp per tonne
E: <150 bhp per tonne

Super Lap Scotland 2014 Round 1
Super Lap Scotland Round 1
Conditions were warm and sunny. However parts of the track felt like it was a bit slippy.

Today was the first round of SLS, sods law I selpt in
Despite still not knowing the car I opted out of doing practice session 1 and instead chose to take it easy, get breakfast, finish setting the car up and going through scrutineering. I did practice 2 and I felt like I did crap and was convinced it was a crap time. It turned out to be a new PB
a 1:01.157, faster than what I did last weekend.
In qualifying I set a faster time on my first run (1:01.039 - so close to getting into the 61's), went to try and beat that in qualifying 2 and failed (trying too hard) so retired from qualifying with a time I knew would get me through to the final.
The final is a one shot deal, outlap - timed lap - cool down lap. Since I didnt want to repeat my shoddy perfomance in qualifying 2 I tried to take it a bit easier and brake a little earlier. It worked and I kept it on the track for a class win
With a time of 1:01.3xx
You'll notice a change in noise from last time out. Also the car had too much under steer from having my tyre pressures up too high, some thing that needs to be worked on.

And how not to do it. From qualifying 2

A bit of rear wheel off the ground

Some pics of just a few the other cars taking part that I managed to snap.
