Bird Poo and white cars

Post by RattyMcClelland » Sat May 03, 2014 1:10 am

My car is immaculate and waxed.
I come home every day or every other day to find 2 or 3 massive bird jobbies on the car. Nothing on the driveway or other car parked next to it.

No joke......

One bird bum droppings was like concrete. Nothing would remove it and when i did it had eaten a layer of clearcoat which luckily wet sanded and polished out.

But why the fook do they choose my car.....Not my white van. But be pearl they are attracted to.

I remove it immeadiately since i know what crap can do to the paint.

....waits for bum droppings car 5th Gen jokes.

Anyone else have this issue. Pearl white 5th genners?

It's more a problem on dark cars as they resemble water to the bird, and they prefer to poo in water. What LSP you using?

Haha in my street there are eight cars parked in a line side by side but funny you say as it's only the two lude bonnets that get it not a single mark on any of the rest!! :x

Yep! The bastid seagulls always target my car at work in Fleetwood. Not a drop of poop on the other cars around it :x

Last week, I had one crap running the length of the car  The gull must have been cow-sized :o

I know it's probably not great stuff but I keep a bottle of Demon Shine stuff in me boot, for just such emergencies ... obviously done asap mind.

Definately not dark cars. 2 black cars next to mine never get hit. Plus I spray 3 cars a day and usually dark cars are usually ok. Red attracts crap too.

Lsp is bilt hamber finis wax, hydra wax & qd

yep my red lude gets crapped on - its has cut throught the laquer in a couple of spots and no amount of sanding or polishing can repair it - like you say some of the crap sets like concrete. I wonder if i mix some wd40 into their diet it will be easier to remove their jobby :)
the gulls are nesting on the roof of the building i live in so everything gets covered

Maybe consider a coating, which is more resistant to bird lime :) Gtechniq make some good ones, as do CarPro and Art De Shine :) That will be my approach once I've corrected my paint.

my car doesn't really get this attention even when we stay in Llandudno it doesn't seem to get anymore attention than others but I do get it cleaned off asap doesn't seem to affect the paint though maybe its the diet of the bird

White triggers fear and aggressive-type responses in a lot of birds

And if its jobby is green the bird probably has chlamydia.
