ju5ta5 5g gold lude

Post by ju5ta5 » Tue Jul 08, 2014 9:28 pm

Hi everyone!

Since I bought my prelude it felt somehow special from day 1 and put more time and energy into it, I feel happier and happier - its like a drug! Over the last couple of months, I have been checking how it handles, what is broken, what I don't like and put up the to do list. Strange, but after completing a mod, I add 2 more on the list! :D so it becomes bigger and bigger and seem that it will never end. Being self employed I simply spent too much time on prelude instead of running the business, so put a cap and made it official, that weekends are my prelude days.

My lude on the day I bought it:

One of the first thing I did, was to re-attach the boot spring. I found one brand new in the boot when I bought the lude, so it was a matter of putting it back. And so I tried  I did everything, used all the tools I had - and could not slide it back in.. nearly killed myself doing it.. haha

I found a picture online that honda sells the special tool, with the help of my neighbour, decided to make my own from various spare bits I had arround and here it is:

I did the spring in less than 10 sec! and cost me nothing! 8-)
If anyone wants to borrow it, feel free to ask ;)

Then it was time for foggy headlight.

I used this stuff from halfords:

I think it looks way better, but to make it 100% clear, I still need to get more sandpaper as the ones provided they were only small sheets and I cant think it could possibly last for the amount of polisher you get with the pack.

Since I had no sandpaper, I need to get some and polish all lights: headlights, indicators, fogs & rears. Didnt have much time to look into what grade of sandpaper to get. Has anyone done it before and could share some light?
