'Agreed value' on the insurance.. (Got a quote)

Post by nitin_s1 » Sun Jul 27, 2014 9:43 pm

Hi LGers.

I have done the car mods that I planned for and just finishing up some more bits and the car will be ready 2 weeks time so now I am hunting for some new insurance quotes.

I wanted to know more about the 'Agreed Value' on the policy. Two times I have been bent over and raped by the third party insurance claiming my car is worth less then £900. :x So this time I want to have an agreed value on it..

Which insurers offer this?
Anyone who have agreed value on their car? (I know Sam has it on his Type-S)
I asked last time when I was asking for quotes but they said I couldn't get that on my car because of my age :| :?
Prestige insurance, has to have the car over 20 years old and with very little mods..

If I just insure my car normally I got an quote off £700 which is really good considering my location and age.. But just didn't have agreed value. :(

I was under the impression that the agreed value counted for very little in the end except, perhaps, in the case of theft. If the car's pranged, an assessor will still want to look at it and you may be offered less than you thought.

I was under the impression that incase the insurers said the car is a write-off then they will pay you the 'Agreed value' that you agreed.. :?

My car has an agreed value of £2500. To me it's worth a lot more.
All the mods have been declared. Something about like-for-like replacements.

This is with Sky insurance. :geek:

I have my lude insurance with Adrian Flux. All mods declared for a like for like in the case of damage. Try them, no one else could get close to what they quoted me 8-)
