Thinking of upgrading my sound system

2 way components and a 2 channel amp for the front components.
a 10 or 12" sub with its own amp.
FUll sound deadened vehicle and youll be onto a winner.

Sounds like the way I'm going just deciding on what parts. I have an alpine type r 12" sub and that's it, also been looking at the pioneer double din pioneer app radio

Im bassically using that setup, focal front components off a genesis profile 2 amp, 12" sub off a profile sub amp and pioneer double din, seems to do a pretty good job. If your near Billing aquadrone at any point your welcome to a listen, ludes off the road for a few months so she wont be going anywhere for a bit

I was over that way today actually any way Im building the system bit by bit and thought I would start with the headunit

looks a bit 'modern' for me I wouldn't use 5% of its available function I'm sure.

You cant spend too much time on the sounddeadening mate. Seriously. Its 80% of getting good sound out of a car imho. The quality of your equipment can only be measured when its not pishing most of its energy into the car panels and frame.
a well deadened car with jobby kit will sound as good if not better than one with great kit and no thought to vibration control and cavity loss.

Two aspects to consider. cavity filling and panel vibration. Sound mat is great for panels but i would seriously stuff wadding (tear open a couple of old hollow fiber pillows) into all the massive open areas of the boot and side panels to the side of the rear seats. Fill those spaces right up. The difference in solidity and frequency response is AMAZING. Kidney wobbling bass on so much less power its not even funny. Mids that actually stand up and get heard. You wont be sorry you did.
Basically its a cheap and super effective way to make your equipment work as well as it can. You wouldn't drive your car with the handbrake 1/2 on so dont do the same with the audio
