cheers everyone :)
another quick update, managed to grab Bri (giggidy) last Monday and fit the Legend twin pot front brakes (& replacement EBC disks and yellow stuff pads at the same time) as ive never bled brakes before
Image

plus the ATR HEL braided front hoses too
Image

then a few days later smoke was coming from my indicator stalk :? and the wipers are now going very slow so I swapped them for a one that Bri had
Image

awkward wire at the back to unplug...
Image

and note to self.... don't leave screws on the top part of the dash....

Are you still using prelude discs or the 300x25 legend discs?

Good work bud, I realised I never got back to you with info on the Legends install.
Looks like you faired fine though mate.

Legends are indeed 282 x 28mm.

Losing that screw looks annoying, get yourself a little magnetic pickup tool - I've used mine countless times.

I think Merlin might have been getting confused with an upgrade question a while back re: Legend calipers and Accord discs or something.

Might be an option to source some ATR carriers though and use 300x28 discs. ;)

quick update - should have been done a week or two ago but ive been stupid busy :?

had a starting problem recently as some of you may know, so after ticking off most of the usual suspects, plus playing on how it wasnt starting the best guess (from Bri) was the ignition barrel. so ordered a 2nd hand replacement and began to take appart the old one for testing of the replacement barrel.

stripped off the plastic cowling and i got the ignition switch at the back or the barrel disconnected
Image

3 nuts to get it and the plastic cover off
Image

and found a bit of the solder has come off - ah! suspect.
Image

so as its supposed to look like this (example shown on my spare)
Image

i decided to resolder it
Image

and the car started 8-) and then again later that day.
BUT the next day it refused again.....

a slightly different noise, clicking involved, battery seems reasonably charged but charged it anyway
Image

no difference so thought battery is fooked. got a new one (failed test in shop) and fitted that and then we got back to no clicking - ooook.

no clicking but still no starting.

so decided to try the spare barrel removed this wire
Image

this wire
Image

this one
Image

and this one
Image

and had the spare barrel hanging down ghetto wise. still no starting, but needed to push the lude back and found the steering column was locked in place :?

i think in the end it was because i hadnt removed this wire
Image

but it didnt matter as it wasnt the barrel that was dodgy.
Then Wurly suggested the ignition switch could be dodgy so swapped that and BOOM started and has been fine since.... cross fingers!!
