5G ECU/EML reset?

Post by peely » Thu Oct 13, 2016 11:02 pm

Hi chaps. Apologies if it's been covered elsewhere as I'm sure it has! I've searched but keep drawing blanks or finding info on 4G's.

How do I pull codes from a 5G? It's OBD2 as far as I can tell, but there's no socket for a code reader!

It's a mates car - he had a new exhaust section made and he had a new O2 sensor fitted. It's thrown a code - hopefully because they had it running wth the sensor unplugged...

Try disconnecting the battery for a few mins to reset.

Tried it and the light came on again. Does the ECU flash to give the codes or is there a jumper somewhere to get them off the dash?

I've done it on an accord euro R (obd2) there was a 24 pin socket that 2 pins needed bridged, it then flashed the EML on the dash, I'd say the fault still exists if the light is still there.

There's a 2 pin socket in the passenger footwear, behind a little carpet flap on the dash side. Just jump it with a paperclip or something similar and turn the ignition on (but not engine) and the eml will flash to signify the error code :-)
