Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Hi all

What strobe timing lights do you guys using. I'm looking to buy one and I'm not sure which should I get. Any links to shops or egay would be very nice

I use an Accuspark P8000. Remember to buy one with an advance/retard feature - a fixed light will not work as you only have a mark for TDC on the flywheel.

If you want one that measures RPM too then go for the SP8000 (£50). Nice piece of kit.

On the flywheel there are 4 marks, TDC, 15 degrees before TDC and +/- 2 degrees of that.

Any timing gun should do the job. We use an old one that looks like this and it does the job fine http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unbranded-Tim ... Swx2dYDE6J

i painted in the marks on the aftermarket flywheel so they could be seen a bit more easily ;)
if the flywheel is already on the car you can remove the lower clutch inspection plate and mark them in situ.

I use an Accuspark but without the advance/retard feature, it seems to be highly recommended by classic car enthusiasts, done a few cars now and haven't needed that feature yet so its more than paid for itself already.
