Post by Pre_luda_Chris » Sun Feb 19, 2017 6:25 pm

I want to brighten up the look with a full LED upgrade all around (as much as poss).

Has anyone else done this, i'd like to know more. stick a pic up if any of you lads and ladies have.

so i'm curious with the double filament bulb will it just shine brighter? ...looking forward to it

are you meaning to replace the dip and main or just side lights from my experience of led dip and main they dont seem to create the right light , i have leds in my front side lights and number plate lights slowly converting interior lights now
success is the ability to go from one failure to the next without any loss of enthusiasm :D :D

There are lots of direct replacement options out there these days.
A few people have replaced the interior bulbs on their ludes with LEDs, others have changed some of the exterion lights.
Not sure if anyone has done 100% changeout though.

When you ask about "the double filament bulb" what do you mean?

probably not going to do a full full conversion... im not a fan of the overhead interior LED too much.
plus, i just saw tom023's cool blue h1 installation, they might do.

@wurlycorner the double filament was in regards to the brake lights

I changed everything to LED except headlights. All just drop in replacements, if you order the correct lamp types!

The only problem is the indicators. As the LEDs draw far less current than the incandescents, the module thinks the indicators bulbs have blown. I believe I installed 12-ohm, 25-watt resistors in series with the two rear indicators, which sorted it.

I've replaced all the rear cluster and indicator bulbs with LEDs (bar the side repeaters) and also the puddle lights in the doors. I just needed resistors for the indicators in the rear.

Just a side note Chris... If you want to tag someone in the thread you have to use the "tag" button above the text box (or right it in manually), so it will look like username[/ tag]. It also won't work if it's an edit :)

tricky thing with the indicators is that there is not much space in the housing unit

Oh and the resistors are hidden by the boot liner, so there's plenty of room for them.
