Anyway, we needed a replacement quickly, so after a scout around, I bought this for the princely sum of £200




She's a 2000 Rover 45 Connoisseur with the 2.0TD engine. Back in 2000 it arrived loaded, but time and careless owners mean it currently has knackered aircon, the sunroof is jammed shut (but thankfully doesn't leak), and the boot lock is seized.
It came with MOT till end of November, but had a fuel leak, and was really sluggish. Have since replaced the fuel tank (ebay is great) and fitted a new MAF, and it now pulls like a train (while sounding like a ... train).
So much of the innards are Honda, I've been able to replace a lot of trim clips, switches and bulbs with spares I had for the lude (I hate blown dash bulbs).
It gives 52mpg and is super comfy - so atm, I'm counting it as a win
