New Member & Serial Prelude Addict.

Hello everyone.

Today I acquired this lovely wee beastie:

It's a year 2000 Vti, so that's nice.

I love Preludes, this is the 4th one I've owned. after a gap of 6-7 years I couldn't resist when this popped up for sale locally. I love all Japanese cars, but Preludes in particular hold a special place in my heart. I also have a Mitsi FTO, which is brilliant but very different in character to the 'lude, and a diesel Accord wagon for general dogsbody duty.

Couple of quick questions - can someone tell me what sort of auto gearbox oil I need, and how much of it? First thing I'll do is a decent service.

...and does anyone know where I can get a remote key fob blank? None of the ones on ebay are the right shape. Two came with the car, but the buttons are missing from one. It would be nice to have a spare.

Looking forward to being part of the community here :) - by the way based in Folkestone, Kent, if anyone else is local.

Hi and welcome.

Nice lude.

The gearbox oil is best obtained from Honda, the normal off the shelf oils don't do too well in these boxes. I can't remember how much, but its a decent amount 4 or 5 litres.

The manual states 6 litres for an overhaul and 2.4 litres for a fluid change.

Welcome to the club mate :) And welcome back to Preludes! :D It's not an easy bug to shake, even after years. One particular member is on lude number 19 I think. He obviously keeps forgetting what's good for him ;)

Not sure. I think it's a kind of mental elephant.

You look like you could be too young to know who either of those are!

No one's called me young for a long time!

Gonzo I know well, Cyril Sneer I had to look up but I do recall him now!
