Gear knob and possibly gaitor suggestions

Hi All,

My gear knob is not standard and I am not a big fan of it. I don't like the gap between the gaitor and the knob either.

Any recommendations/suggestions?

i would either screw a nut below the knob then tuck the gaitor in (after removing the chrome top section) between the nut and knob

or take the knob and gaitor off, put on a nut and a large enough washer to hold up the gaitor on the shaft, then put the gaitor back on (loosly) then the knob, and tighten them both together whcih will hold up the gaitor and chrome top thing.

Cheers guys, problem is, getting an original knob for the type s is impossible, but I guess a standard 5th gen one would fit with the gaiter right?

Type-S had the best gear knob which was more rounder then the OEM (other 5G knobs) which were more rectangular. And also the Type-S had the red stitching. Very hard to get hold off and if you eventually do find one they want $200 :|

I got the optional Type-R style one from Access Catalogue. :ugeek: :ugeek:

What is this Access Catalogue and is it possible to still order stuff from it?

On the same vein i have some horrible plastic thing on my type s that looks like it came off an umbrella, I've had a 5 speed type r knob lying around for ages which i think is as close as I'm going to get to the optional one, but I need a nice gator with the red stitching to go with it any suggestions for that?
