How did you know to compare it with the CRX?
I found it searching for skunk2 pro2 cam engines that are not the bloated American HP figures. And I know Rich likes to use these cams. He has a fair few I can compare to that are pretty much this setup all boasting extremely similar consistent results which is a good thing. If I was in the USA I'd be making 280-290bhp on the same setup.....because America.

So are these the same figures you were making supercharged and this is no an N/A build?

Be interesting how it drives/sounds for you. I know forced induction + VTEC is amazing but the purity of keeping it N/A is cool too.

Performance autoworks work looks spot on too 👍
No not the same. I was doing around 282wheel bhp and 226wheel lbft on the supercharged setup (so assume around 330-350bhp/260-270lbft at the crank.)
This n/a setup is 262bhp/180lbft at the crank. Too many issues and niggles that I couldn't iron out with the supercharger setup that meant i didn't enjoy it and the engine gave in because of some of them like a blocked exhaust, trapped oil cooler line, lean conditions from exhaust restriction, epic in cylinder heat.

So now its keep it simple stupid.
Keep what's n/a n/a.
Boost further whats already boosted.

Didn't realise how critical an oil cooler is to an FI engine.

Sex. It's lovely. A tad rough at low speed on the low cam and can be jerky around town driving but easy to handle, midrange/high revs is so smooth and torquey.
5800rpm VTEC is smooth and can't be felt. A nice kick at 6800rpm can be felt. Does drop out of VTEC in gears 2, 3 and 4 on upshift but you can only hear the drop not feel it.
Only 350 miles on the engine and I have done 20 of them so will try to put 700-1000 steady sedate miles on it over winter ready for track sessions next show season.

Can't believe how light it feels, the supercharger adds 40kg of weight to the top of the engine and 5kg for the water injection so with that gone. Plus I can use a strut bar so it's feels lively, light and stiff.
Got its personality back.

I don't take cars offroad during winter.

Will be spoilt for which car to bring next year. S660 or Prelude.
