Rear Light Cluster Bulb Order
Lo All
Passed My M.O.T today which was great
Nearly failed as one of the bulbs in the rear passenger side light cluster stopped working but came back on with a tap.
I was wondering if someone on here can confirm what the bulb order is from left to right in the cluster ?
I know it has 5 bulb's 2 small bulb's and 3 larger one's.
Cheers for helps Peops

I thought 5gs had 4 bulbs in the tail light. Stop/tail (580 bulb), tail (501), indicator (582) and reverse (582).
Correct me if I'm wrong on any count

24 is the tail (501).
23 is the stop/tail (580).
The two 2s are the reverse and the indicator (582 each).
26/27 is a locating grommet, which I'm presuming is sided as there's two different part numbers.
The 2 and 5 together in the middleish of the drawing is for the 3rd brake light.

Lo
Thanks
It's a bit odd the drawing I have has two of the 24 bulbs on it
I guessed the 3 larger bulbs would be the tail lights/brake rather than the small one's.
I must be looking at a non domestic market one.
Cheers

Very strange indeed Could you possibly share that? I'm very intrigued
Just had a check using your reg number and it does comes up with the diagram above, so the bulb reference numbers should be correct for you

I love the fact that the prelude has separate bulb holders and loom for each lamp, and separate to the light cluster itself.
I guess the market forced things to be cheaper - the rear light cluster on my wifes old car (pug 207) was a single bit of plastic with 5 stamped out steel strips plastic welded into place, and the bulbs would always need a wiggle once a year... Engineering of a different type (french engineering at that lol). The entire cluster was held to the car with a single plastic wingnut. Total time to fit to the car - about 10 seconds with 0 tools.
It's interesting to compare then and now, it does prove 'they dont make em like they used to'. That's both a good and bad thing by the way lol.

Totally agree with you there. Our old laguna had a rear light earth issue. You know the one, as seen on quite a few French cars of the era, you'd indicate and all manner of lights would flash in the tail light. Turns out one of the metal connectors in the plug had worn through so only plastic was touching. Swiftly fixed with a tiny bit of foil

If I use My reg on Lings it comes up with only one right hand drive one to click on and the rear light cluster drawing is this one for Me
Cheers

How very bizarre. When I did it, it came up with 5 options having looked closer, it appears I was clicking on a left hand drive option having clicked on the only rhd option, it indeed comes up with your image. I'm so confused what a div!
So, yeah...I stand corrected. I can only imagine the other 501 (25) is a sort of corner tail light
