What have been your biggest modifying mistakes??

They were fun to put on, admittedly. But they didn't fit properly, didn't line up with the head-lights and they didn't work very well, either. The reflectors are plastic so you're limited in how much power to put through the lights. And the bulbs popped out the back for no good reason. and, and and... Was quite glad to get rid of them in the end.

Still hankering after a set of these:

Ooh, they are nasty!

Mine was ebc brakes/discs on the old Accord. Run out issues and had to be replaced twice, once at my expense and the second at EBCs, i had to drive to northampton to get them fitted by ebc, they forgot to book me so i had to wait all day, who then lied and said it was down to drokked driveshafts which were hanging off and not to drive the car over 30 on the way home. I got the driveshafts checked the next day and they were fine. kebabs.

Spending £1200 on Lenso rims with chrome lips, then they start to corrode after 6 months...

not stripping off all the old paint and lacquer and then putting acid etch primer ontop

it did not turn out well.

During June 2010 I discovered that Prelude car seats and electric irons don't go together! While attempting to apply an iron on badge, I melted my seat over, so it was irreparably scarred

I've improved it a little since after I took that photo with a suede brush (wire brush). I didn't bother with the iron-on Honda badges - I removed them as they looked tacky!

During May 2011, I purchased a replacement passenger seat from a Prelude being broken in Barking, Essex for £40. It was very dirty so needed a thorough cleaning. As it was from a pre 1999 Honda Prelude, it wasn't a heated seat so with the help of my Dad, I removed the backrest cover and transferred the heating element from my original seat to the replacement's cover before fitting it to my passenger seat.

Believing that 87mm mahle pistons would actually be 87mm. After explaining my disbelief at the engine workshop after I'd received them and mesured them up, I was informed that's normal, albeit after I'd had the block honed to fit 87mm pistons, not 86.8mm
