I have it on the seat, smallest air leak I have to rip the car apart

you can also unlock them with half a tennis ball

I dont understand why vacum why?? whats wrong with wires?
I thought the vacuum was just to actuate the locks? On my Mk2 Golf you can open the doors with a coat hanger at any rate  No wonder it was Britain's most stolen car in it's day

I do agree with the above posts though, the more complex systems within cars get, the more ways there are for somebody to the force the system open. I'm quite happy with the Sigma alarm in my Prelude, don't need anything more fancy tbh as it's a good balance between convenience and security :)

My 3 series has that key, my Z4 has the old turn style key, it works by connecting the obd to a laptop and using a bmw program called "DIS" I have it on my laptop. Its BMW's own program I have them all on my laptop NCS Expert, Impa, DIS etc great if you want to unlock features on the car. I managed to make the roof open and close using the remote with this software and made the windows one touch up and down stuff like that.

To carry out this type of theft you still have to get into the car to its obd connector, which is impossible without setting off the alarm so its not really any more stealable than anything else. The lady was already sat in the car with alarm disarmed  not exactly difficult from there on... Do it with a car thats alarm is switched on then I might think about blocking it in at night ;)

I wondered about the one in the CCTV footage at the start - surely it's alarm should have gone off!

I broke into my 3rd Gen before after leaving the keys in the boot. Coat hanger and rules down the door frame and hooked onto the handle.
BOOM!

LOL, if someone really wants your car they will get it, unless you physically anchor it to the ground, at the end of the day all they have to do is pick it up. Its possible to hire a hiab so all you have to do is hold a clipboard and wear a hi vis jacket and who is going to give it a second glance?

Just replied saying my car isn't going anywhere without a truck and a crane, then read your post

Although tbh, I don't think anyone would get away with it

My friend had his Mk1 escort stolen off his drive it was boxed in by a transit van and large mpv 5 people asleep in the house???? To this day we don't know how it happened, but was probably a hiab, that took balls and not waking anyone they really really wanted it, I don't know why I thought it was a bit of a shed lol.

Mk1 escorts are worth a fortune even if they are a shed

Mint condition your looking at £30k plus on a bad day

I know the first thing he did was get hold of fleetwood docks to pre warn them because apparently they nearly always end up in Ireland as rally cars, it never did turn up again.
