The top relay is the one you have already.

You will then need one of these (middle relay):

I was thinking of wiring in an ignition kill switch, or possibly something cool like a pin pad. You have any idea where I would be able to find the latter?

Not sure about Halfords, Maplin would be a better bet although I've not seen the middle type in there.

Not seen anything pinpad like, no.

My dad is currently working on a microcontroller for me so all I need is the push button, much like today modern keyless cars. I will however still have the ignition barrel (for security) so still need to turn key to position 2, but this is more for proof of concept!

I will also have 3 or 4 switches dotted around the dashboard that need to be in a certain position to start the car

i heard once of a tall story about a location that could be used that was permanent and caused no issue at all and would kill or start the engine at a turn of a key, has anyone else heard of this strange anomaly?

Depends.

If using one the the big red "racing" kill switches then that is just put inline as they're designed to carry 100A plus.

If just using one (or more) toggle switches then yes a relay would be required, as in diagram above.
