Hi,
When you clean out prob best to wear a mask. God knows what it is and some mould's spores produce some nasty toxins. Acute and chronic toxicity.
If you use a small amount of mould/mildew remover this will leave a bit of a residue and kill it off. Will smell a bit bleachy though. Tips above are kry to stopping it coming back - needs to be dry in there.

Coming back to my fungal problem :?

What household products could I use to clean the seats from my Golf? I've brought them inside and the mould wiped off with a cloth, but I'd like to wash the 20 years of back sweat out whilst I've got a chance :)

The seats are just plain grey cloth jobbies btw, but with some multi colour streaks

Is there any decent valeter's local to you (not the cheap foreign car washers a proper valet bay) We charge £5 per seat to wet vac and remove stains. Doesn't take too long either

Either than or hire one of those vac things that you'd use on your carpet (forgot what they're called, brand name).

Apart from that lemon/citric acid is always a good cleaner provided you rinse.

Yeah, I borrowed a wet/dry vac at Christmas when I filled the Xsara with sick  it did an amazing job, but unfortunately I've not got access to it anymore.

I was considering using a weak mix of clothes detergent and hot water, do you reckon that'd work? Otherwise was thinking of buying some vanish carpet/upholstery cleaner tomorrow maybe.

That should work, used it on my old 5G cloth seats when I spilt milk on them last summer

Vanish or washing detergent? if it worked on milk then it should handle these seats no problem at all!

Wish I had a wet dry vac though, the Xsara came out better than it was before I chundered everywhere  epic bit of kit that.
