Engine oil for h23a2?

If i put 5w40 in the lude does it matter that there will be 10w 40 will still in there? Or do i need to do an oil change first?

Also whats the difference between 5w40 and 10w40?

No never mix them. Drain the old oil out first. Most 10w40 are semi synth. 5w40 is fully synth so better protection for longer. The difference in 5 and 10 is cold viscosity. So 5w40 flows better when cold than 10w40 for example. Hot viscosity is the same at 40 for both

Just put in some cheapo oil. Castrol Magnetec or similar is more than enough for a road car.
