Well if it's been double-checked and deemed okay I wouldn't worry about it. Get some mileage on the new belts and hopefully they will quieten down once they are worn-in as the guys mentioned.

If it's still noisy after a few hundred miles you could always have another check to make sure the belts aren't shredding as you would see bits of the fibres collecting in certain areas. Chances are it will quieten down though, or just turn up the stereo! :twisted:

So from all comments, the sound could be a) nothing, b) belt rubbing against case due to belt being too tight.

Do auto tensioners have a tendency to sometimes over tighten belts?

Not from my experience, it's the manual tensioner that has little adjustment and tensions the belts tighter than is ideal. I've had my belt changed with a new auto-tensioner a couple of times on the H22A8 now with no problems or belt noise.

When I did my manual tensioner conversion it took many 1000's miles for the noise to die down.
