Lol - there are some funny responses.

Its not got a decat, infact the exhaust is standard which will need to be changed soon.

So longs as its fine I am a happy egg. I guess I was just getting concerned with the mileage and age of the car. Dropped the oil changes down to every 5k now as well.
I came before the chicken.. The argument is now settled!!

It could be a little oil getting past your piston rings or valve seals and combusting in the cylinder, a common thing in Preludes with high mileage. A compression test will point if there is a problem there.

@Merlin - Cheers for the information mate.

If I get a compression test done, what is a good reading and how will I know if the piston rings or valve seals needs replacing?

And what happens if I leave it for a while, will that cause more damage to the engine?

No you will be fine, no damage. If it is that, it is only burning a little bit of oil.

When it comes to compression testing there is no hard and fast rule about PSI readings as more aggressive setups have the potential to produce lower compression testing numbers and vice versa.

The main thing is that you want to see a nice even result across all cylinders. if one or two are much lower than the others that points to a potential problem.
