Oh right I'm with you mate. I thought you meant the sliding mechanism for the roofbennyboy wrote:Yes it will, you can just swap the metal panel for the glass one, but there is a sliding shade with the 5th, which you can choose to fit or not. I didn't bother as I like the extra light and its a lot simpler.

Awesome, how does it look? Got any photos?fweakyg wrote:Ive got a 5th gen glass sunroof on mine

glass only fits, glass with shade does also with some small mods on the mechanism (there are loads done on google). if glass only then the sliders and mounting bolts are visable from the inside, dont think this would bother me though.
i changed my sunroof yesterday (metal one) and i found i had one corner with 2 shims 2 corners with 1 shim and 1 corner without shims
yet this has never been removed
how odd, is this normal?

Unless you get the plastic trims from the 5G that cover them uplittlefeller wrote:if glass only then the sliders and mounting bolts are visable from the inside, dont think this would bother me though.

ah yes the plastic covers, i have seen pics of this while i considered replacing mine. the cost of the glass sunroof put me off but now after repairing mine, the cost to repaint a steel one, it doesnt stack up to badly, and they do look cool on 4gens

How to.

After the angle grinder...

Remove head lining.

4th gen v's 5th gen sunroof assembly (4th on the left).

A bit of work to make the interior light fit.

The rear lip has to be cut off to fit the headlining.

And bolted onto the car.

A bit of hindsight would have helped here, as you can see the lip on the front of the sunroof assembly sticks out a little too much, this'll need cutting for the headlining to fit perfectly.

there are a fair few of these walk throughs on the tinternet, most follow this plan, they do look good on the 4g. even different coloured ludes like for instance red body with black moon roof look cool. i do like them, personaly i wouldnt bother with the shade screen, and just fit the glass. supose its personal preference, i had a similar roof on my old car (non lude) with a screen and yes the screen stayed closed most of the time, there must have been a reason for this but i cant remember or think why that might have been
anyone have any ideas as to why this was so, did it get to hot maybe? or to much light maybe. might be helpfull to know before you deside and go ahed

So to get the slider in as well all you have to do is grind off that rear bit?
I always have the shade open on my Accord, can't get too much sunlittlefeller wrote:there are a fair few of these walk throughs on the tinternet, most follow this plan, they do look good on the 4g. even different coloured ludes like for instance red body with black moon roof look cool. i do like them, personaly i wouldnt bother with the shade screen, and just fit the glass. supose its personal preference, i had a similar roof on my old car (non lude) with a screen and yes the screen stayed closed most of the time, there must have been a reason for this but i cant remember or think why that might have beenanyone have any ideas as to why this was so, did it get to hot maybe? or to much light maybe. might be helpfull to know before you deside and go ahed

No, the slider is integrated in the whole assembley, the rear lip has to come off to align with the 4th gen headlining. You should also cut some of the front away too, about half of the lip for a perfect fit.jjmartin349571 wrote:So to get the slider in as well all you have to do is grind off that rear bit?
