^^ how much??

I'm not concerned about the overdraft guys, we pay off at least £50 a month and as I said we're not paying interest currently - we have 0% for another year or so, so realistically it makes no difference paying now or over the next few months. The house I'm not worried about, I can repair it myself but I'm lazy and the dog is still young, I'll probably wait until he's older before I fix too much. Would be so much less hassle getting s builder in though

I think I've made up my mind what I'm doing anyway :) got an insurance quote on my Golf, it's under £400 so I'm going to get her back on the road. I could do with going back to driving a 1.6 anyway, fuel economy on the Accord isn't great around town.

After the Golf is on the road I'll get the Prelude sorted, it's insured so all I need is MOT and tax then I'll have enough roadworthy cars to keep me happy without needing another. Hopefully  Also will mean I can free up some driveway and get my 6th Gen Accord up from my parents' house :)

Depending on what is left over, and if I see a suitably cheap VR6, then I think my summer will be sorted :D

I don't get it :(

You have a Golf, you have a Prelude.
You're a member of a Prelude club.
The Golf is uninsured but you want more from it. The Prelude is insured but needs a touch of work, MOT and tax.
You're going for the Golf first.
You'll eventually be unhappy with what you're getting from the Golf and will spend more money on it.

u wot m8

Bin the Golf if you ask me. You're going to drive it for economy reasons, then put a bigger lump in it. That's more time and money and you will lose that economy. That pretty much makes it a waste of time because you'll be back at square one (need something more economical) with at the end of the day... a Mk2 Golf.

This whole time your Prelude will still be sitting there. Your Accord(s) will still be sitting there. Crying. Dying.

It's an 'if' on the VR6 lump mate :) I love my Golf and I can quite happily drive it as is. It's currently the most fuel efficient car I have available, and all it needs is insurance and tax. I can afford to run the Accord as my daily, but if I can save £15 or so a week by using the Golf, why not? However, I've always fancied something with a V6 lump - if a cheap VR6 mk3 was easily available to me then I definitely wouldn't pass the opportunity to snap it up to use as a donor. I know you guys probably don't get the whole Golf thing, but it's a car I really love and I have no plans to get rid anytime soon!

As for the Prelude, it's going to get sorted as soon as it warms up a bit and I can be bothered to do the required work. She's not lost yet :) and once repaired the Prelude won't sit idle, it's my girlfriend's favourite so will be her run around. I get a request every other day to get the Prelude sorted

She loves the Prelude mate, and why wouldn't she? It's a nice car  but even if I were to drive it, my daily commute is about 1.5-2 miles each way... Surely that's runaround territory? :)

I drove my lude across the drive this eve to get the seats out my Golf - that was temptation enough  don't get me wrong, I love my Prelude, but I have other cars I love too, so there's no urgency to sort it
