if its the EL dials its usually 2 capacitors on the board which need replacing.

you can swap the speedo needle unit out on its own - if it just not lighting up the the fix pushki mentions is good but if the needle starts sticking then you might need to swap it for a working unit (if you can find one)

This is correct! Here is a link to Stan's capacitor fix if you want to do a proper job.

I attempted this first with new capacitors and it didn't work. Possibly due to my soldering skills, or lack thereof. :(
The ghetto fix is easy and it works. I've had no problems with my dials in the 2½ years since the fix. ;)

when doing the capacitors you also need to check the track for damage as where the capacitors leak they can make a bit of a mess of the board :)
