Air con ticking noise

Well, I dropped the box and had a listen. Noise seems to be coming from somewhere behind the white thingy on the right -

Didn't really fancy dismantling all of whatever was between me and it.

Also I don't think I described it very well. Having had another listen its more like a hissing/wheezing noise.

Could it just be that it needs regassing? Never had AC before

i think this is the cover for the evaporator, if the hissing is coming from here then its buggered.
