Did you get anything special done to the head? Or was it just ATR IM, clean up, and a tune?

Re: BsBB1 - UPDATE - H22A8 build

Only had a very quick look at STK's build Merlin, but the main differences that I can see is that I have adjustable cam gears, and I'm not sure if his was a rebuild?
Because mine has been built up from scratch again, it's had a head skim and a little port work (not major), maybe thats where the difference would be?

Sorry I don't type quick enough
Yes, Rich did a little port blending, NOT a true port and polish race spec stylee, but smoothing out really.
There's some pics back a few pages, but not to be confused with the full race ones that Rich posted up.

stk has the adjustable gears too ;)

I think his motor was a transplant rather than a PAW rebuild.

PAW rebuilt 01 ATR 238bhp & 164lb/ft sold

We're talking less than 10bhp difference, I just wondered if there was something specific that had been done differently.

Not really I don't think, maybe as Alex says just slight differences between new build and transplant.
No two would ever be the same I guess anyway, so many variables in the mix.

Shows what the ATR cams are capable of too, 244bhp on stock cams is pretty impressive!

Wish I was able to get hold of decent ATR pistons when I have my engine in bits at PAW, oh well.

^^ a8 cams (they are the same anyway). I'm doing my h22a7 swap myself but I could only dream of getting a result as good as this :(
