I would say that you are welcome to hold your own opinion but that I am also able to hold my own and mine would be that your opinion is wrong.

Tesco momentum is like tesco own brand blended whisky. Its not the value jobby but its still gonna rot your insides. Buy some decent single malt or GTFO. :P
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

hahaha and I say you also may keep your opinion as it has no bearing on my personal fuel preference. I am going to continue to buy Momentum fuel and if you don't like it, you GTFO ;) xxx

Honestly, if it's your dayli, buy bigger injector, a fuel pressure regulator, adjust the ignition, run on E85 and save money.

I've bought some H22 injectors to put on mine but I've never bought the FPR and I really regret it... But now I'm 4min away from work so... :)

AFAIK we don't have E85 yet, thankfully. Maybe in a few select places.

Oh dear, not the high ethanol content fuel again, you know how upset I get at the mention of that

But yeah in my 4th gen Si VTEC I got 25-30mpg on average commuting 30 miles each way or so, mainly on dual carriageways with only using VTEC to get up to speed/pass fannies. That figure could drop dramatically if I was having a week where work was pissing me off though  :vtec:  the most I ever had was high 30's when I picked the car up, but that's because I was driving so my gf could keep up in the mk2 Golf

As said by others, I think 28mpg is pretty good for a car packing that many ponies and that's so enjoyable to drive. There's always going to be a compromise somewhere!

yeah if your looking for fuel economy your sat in the wrong seat  buy a prius   if others are telling you that they are getting more mpg they are either your grandma(miss daisy) or they are driving your grandma

but seriously if you want to improve it then there are ways like removing weight from you and the car  don't carry any unnecessary weight ie spares in the boot

This might interest some of you:

Tesco 99 spec
Shell 99 spec

So in short V-Power has a 0-5% ethanol content, Tesco specify 5% ethanol and 3% methanol. That's probably the main difference that people care about. A very very simple way of looking at it is they're both rated at 99RON, but Shell's base fuel is 'better' as it has less boosters to get to 99.

that bigger injector thing is interesting. i have an AFR gauge on my camaro i could use on the Honda easily.
i used to run E85 on my R4 and my camaro but tuning the carb is really unconvenient due to heavy weather changes (-15 in winter, +35 in summer here near germany... Celsius of course !). injection is the solution for this.

i even have LT1 injectors, if only they could fit in !
the H22 injectors are bigger than the ones on the BB8 ?

"that many ponies", we don't live in the same world :P 185hp is like a minimum for a confortable daily driver. plus it doesn't have a lot of torque, especially in low rev (and of course, no high rev before the engine is fully warm !)

I paid £650 for my JDM import - you'd be hard pushed to find something as powerful and reliable for that little money imo :)

Btw, from what I've read up on my carby cars, fuel with a high ethanol content is a no-no for carbs ;) apparently it can encourage a build up of moisture in the float bowls. I'd drain the float bowl out and get it onto some premium fuel if it were me.

dat hygroscopy

This has been discussed previously and I think everyone got bored, but:
The only Honda vehicles that are ethanol fuel compliant up to E10 are:

Accord 2003 onwards
Accord Euro 2003 onwards
City 2009 onwards
Civic Range 2004 onwards
CR-V 2003 onwards
CR-Z 2011 onwards
Insight 2004 onwards
Integra 2004 onwards
Jazz 2004 onwards
Legend 2007 onwards
MDX 2003 onwards
Odyssey 2004 onwards
S2000 2004 onwards

CAN I USE E85 IN MY HONDA ENGINE?
E85 contains 85% ethanol and must not be used in Honda engines.

Using fuels with percentages of ethanol or methanol higher than 10% (E10) will cause starting and/or performance problems. It can also damage metal, rubber, and plastic fuel system components that are not covered under the Distributor’s Limited Warranty.
