Knocking from engine

That sounds the same as mine did about 3 months ago were my oil pump died on me, leaving the engine dry as drok!

I was driving in third and hit VTEC and then the awful noise of what sounded like a belt came flying off and lurched the car.

Turned out I blew the top end off my H22A8, made the same noise and knocked in time with the RPM.

So i didnt get a wink of sleep last night worrying about swapping engines and the like.
Went to do the valve adjustments tonight and went to take the ht leads out. #1 provided no resistance. it wasnt seated on the plug properly and the little nipple thing at the top of the plug was loose. all put back together properly for a quick test and the knocking is totally gone...

Time to swap out the super 4s for ngk i think! :D

Thanks for all the help guys. gonna do the valve adjustment at some point anyway now i know how to do it, and this whole incident has scared me enough that im gonna look into getting my oil leaks sorted! :oops:

What you doing with the spare motor you had lined up?

Thanks, im properly relieved!

I think im gonna put it in storage and reuild and mod it as i can afford it. maye aim to get it installed next year sometime.
