dash cam recommendations please

^^ that's what I'm going to do. I've found one that most looks like an 'original' on Amazon, at leas tthis way there are many pictures to compare with so if there is a problem, a refund should be easy to obtain

The only thing i would say is that the SJ4000 looks a bit "obvious".

With a dash cam, you are essentially leaving a camera in your car. You wouldn't leave your Olympus Trip sat on the dashboard in case it got nicked. The more discreet the better, which the Mini0803/05 fulfills. You can also easily unclip it from the mount if you are leaving you car somewhere dodgy.

Lude windows aren't very tall either, so the less obstructive, the better.

Yeah you don't want to leave it your car. It looks too much like GoPro.

I actually bought mine for mountain biking (uses the GoPro mounts).

I'm still on the lookout for a dash cam, but I want one that I can connect to a small rear cam too.

I always take my stereo front off, so taking the camera with me won't be a bother - plus I'll be using it in 2 cars anyway..

I quite liked the look of the Amberella 0805, but again, difficult to find the 'real fakes'.

Just buy two, one for the front and one for the back

My X4000 in the ATR has a forward and rear facing mirror, but the rear mirror is pretty pants as it just kind of films the inside the car. I'll find some links.

This is from the 0803 i have in the Civic, put the quality to 1080p HD and full screen so you get better idea without the Youtube quality reduction.

I muted the sound so to as not hear my gay voice.

This is my X4000 in the ATR which i got a couple of years back. Again set the youtube settings to HD etc...
