Well with the spare (alas, non-Spoon) ECU it runs fine and as predicted, the valve does not open immediately.
I can't see any visible popped transistor, any idea which is the driver transistor for the EGR solenoid?
Edit: Actually it looks like its Q24, which is a 2SD1594. But I took it out and it tests OK!

Glad u got it sorted - I had a problem with my ecu after it was chipped - @bluejackhustler fixed it for me and its worked fine for the last few years. Maybe see if you can send the faulty ecu to him - the 4 plug tcs ecu is definately worth saving
