After looking around, the bolts are snap off ones, not actually rivets, so you need to somehow cut a slot to turn them out or drive them round with a chisel, they do turn out and you can fit the new one with bolts or screws.

if you have a dremel, cut a slot in the rivets for a flat head

works on rusted bolts quite well too
