Vpower gives me more mpg. Ordinary 95 costs less. Overall, the pennies per mile works out roughly the same and there's no real noticeable real-world performance difference. Even the halfway house, additive-rich Tesco stuff doesn't seem to bother the car either way.
Perhaps it's because my Lude's only got a junior engine (A5)? But I don't think so. The same effect is noticed in the ATR, which seems to learn what fuel you're using.
It would be different if you drove everywhere as if on a track, but I honestly think half the gains people notice are in the head and not the car. Placebo petrol?
