Clutch won't come back up

Hi guys

Just jumped in the lude there to take it a spin and when I pressed the clutch pedal down it made a snap noise and wouldn't come back up, when I pulled it back up by hand it stayed there but once you pushed it it snapped back down again and wouldnt come.

Any ideas guys, any help is appreciated

check for fluid around the master and slave cylinders, is the reservoir still full?

From what I could see there was a bit of fluid on the rod going out the back of yhe pedal, didn't have a chance to check the reservoir just jumped in the other car seen I needed to pick my gf up from work :p might have a quick look when I get to the house and I'll let yous know

It's either slave cylinder gone, clutch spring or master cylinder fault not a master mechanic but had similar problem but was no snap in my case was air in pipes causing lack of pressure.

Was it an easy fix? Hoping its not gonna be anything major :p

Well checked under the pedal and looks like there is a bit if fluid around the rod going through the fire wall, also checked the reservoir and it was pretty much near empty so does that mean a replacement master cylinder is needed?

I would imagine there would be quite alot of fluid around the master cylinder rod to be sure

. Pull back the slave cylinder boot, see if fluid runs out.

Mine did this and it was the slave cylinder in the front if the gearbox. Fluid all inside the boot. Bought a new one off brakes international and took 20minsvto swap over and bleed the clutch. Very easy. Just 3 or 4 bolts inc bleed lines.
