JapFest 2014 tracktime footage

Post by SPYDOR » Sun May 11, 2014 1:53 pm

Found this video from onboard a quick Evo during our session:

He passes quite a few Preludes, including:

@CrunchyAdams82's red 4G (1:10)
@Gayno's white 4G (1:45),
@Thebusofwoe's green 4G (2:28),
@Drax's dark 4G (3:35),
@nucleustylzlude's silver Mazda (10:17),
@nitin_s1's black 5G (10:45),
@Bludge's red 4G (11:00)

You can also see @nitin_s1's black 5G (dark rims) 2nd from the front in the pitlane and my black 5G (silver-lip rims) 4th from the front, then @nucleustylzlude's silver Mazda 5th in line.

He spent a while chasing down that white Civic, which must have been really quick as well.

Well from what I've decided from this. Is unless your running a Lude at around 1000kg and 250-270bhp any car with decent cc and a turbo will smash us on straights lol even made the s2k look like diesel van lol.

Very true, although the Prelude can't hold a candle to most Evos or Imprezas, unfortunately. I was on a Castle Combe trackday last week driving against a guy in a fairly stock Impreza WRX (225bhp I believe) and he was far quicker than my 5G H22a8. A combination of 4 wheel drive, the torque from a turbocharged engine and not forgetting the LSD that most rally-replicas come with meant he could take corners a lot quicker then power out of them faster as well.

Makes me think about getting a Quaife LSD fitted as well as getting the engine built...

:lol: - Well I was running a similar pace to a couple of tasty Integra DC5s yesterday so I was happy with that! One was running a supercharger as well but I don't think it was setup properly as it should have been much faster otherwise.

@mercutio - what have you actually had done to your engine so far, as I've seen the JSRC and ITB's on your build thread but not sure what has been fitted and tuned so far? :?
