Re: 5g HID headlight conversion
If you mean a propper HID projector retrofit then ok.
If your putting a HID into a halogen reflector housing them epic fail.

The hid in reflector will just blind oncoming traffic
Are your halos for a left or right hand drive?
Most of them come from the states and the pattern kicks up to the right instead of left therefore righ into the faces of cars on opposite side of the road

It was a question. Are you putting a HID bulb into a headlight that was not designed for HID. HID in a halogen reflector is a no no. The light is so intense that a halogen reflector cannot focus the light properly onto the road and therfor causes so much glare and scattered light.Therealjj91 wrote:Any non sarcy help would be appreciated
A HID bulb in a halogen projector can work quite well but again the internal halogen reflector inside the projector unit cant fully control the light before the projector lense can spread it.
Either do a propper HID projectors retrofit so you can run a HID bulb or find a decent halogen bulb light osram nightbreakers. Dont get blue tinted bulbs. THese reduce light output for the sake of the citroen Saxo god innit.
Also as said is the headlights left of right hand drive?

I would say they are fine in rhd projectors (i've done it enough times) although vosa would probably disagree because your supposed to have auto levelers and headlamp washers.
HID in a halogen unit body lemonade me off as they blind the drokk out of me when people drive past. Theres a few cars in my area that have it and have done for ages. How have they not been pulled yet?

No quite. If auto levelers and washers are present they must be working or its a fail.vetrox wrote:although vosa would probably disagree because your supposed to have auto levelers and headlamp washers.
Alot of early cars equipped with HIDs did not have auto levellers or washers. DC2 98spec integra for example.

I will dig up the visa page when im home but it refers to it as a mod. It was some drivel like "we don't want to stop people fitting them as long as the make sure its all there" I will try and find itRattyMcClelland wrote:No quite. Sorry guys just got back in lol and I ordered the lights off eBay from the states so they are probably LHD unfortunately :/ but like you've said I wouldn't mind either option as long as they are better than what I've got now. I didn't have my car for 2 months cause of the rebuild and it was only when I got it back and drove it at night that I realised just how poor they really were and I was more dependant on following the tail lights in front of me then my actual lights themselves lol.
