satnav cd

Post by prelude91 » Fri Apr 03, 2015 6:38 pm

Guys.
My nephew has an '04 Accord CDTI but the satnav is not working. I understand that he needs to insert a CD into the fascia to activate / update the satnav. Anyone got access to the appropriate CD that I can buy / borrow please.

I nearly bought that model of accord due to my 45 mile a day commute but I couldn't go through with buying a diesel so I bought the lude instead

When I was looking this forum was really useful, I expect they can point you in the right direction: typeaccord.co.uk

Thanks, ATR, the meet up at Porstdown Hill went well. Fancy organising another soon? Perhaps more your way a bit. Chichester / Bognor area, perhaps.

Yeah it was a bit far for me to come plus it was my wifes birthday so it was a no go for me. What about Brighton? There is a car show there called incarnation in May.

Thanks Donald for the tag.

Yep, you need a disc which contains the maps.
Most people buy copied discs but they say that the copied discs can knacker the laser in the drive. The drives themselves are around 200 quid second hand to replace.
My disc is a genuine Honda one but is a 2006 maps version so pretty out dated.

There are a few genuine discs knocking around ebay
Have a search for navigation disc
But I cant see any sellers selling copied discs

If you insert a disc in your system which is older than what was previously in there you will get a disc error message. you need to downgrade it. Heres some instructions of how to do that

http://hondakarma.com/threads/sat-nav-d ... error.109/

Post a up a thread on Honda karma. the guys on there are very helpful and someone may be able to lend you or copy you a version 2 disc

Hope it helps

Other note: Sat discs versions: version 3.xx which is for facelift models, pre-facelift use version 2.xx
Pre-facelift accord: 2003 to 2005
face lift accords: 2006-2008
