lowering springs 5th gen (how low?)

Post by James 5th gen » Sun Apr 16, 2017 8:34 pm

Hello guys,

I want to lowering my car but in past experience (golf mk4), I've had rubbing/scrapping issues.

I'm basically looking for a nice set of springs that can get me a bit lower achieving a nice look, but not too low that i cant make it up a curb or speed bump.

Can anyone recommend me a specific size spring? i'm not looking for the slammed look and i quite regularly park half up on a curb.

when I've looked around i've also found a few sets of springs that say they wont fit the 4ws models, so if anyone could shed some light on that as well, that'll be great. Thanks

The 4WS is no different when it comes to the struts, so if it fits a 2WS, it'll fit a 4WS.

25-35mm is a good drop that'll give a nice look and not be too much of an issue.

I run vogtland springs on my 4th with stock shocks and it's pretty much spot on.
