So my alpine head unit has some eq presets but you can also tune it manually. Has anybody done this before as I have no idea what I am doing?

Always tricky
Mid range and treble - keep that for the front speakers, I assume you can set crossover frequencies on the Alpine to split the sound, e.g. 120hz and above for the fronts, and lower frequencies to the rear.
My Prelude hasn't been sound proofed at all and has a sub in the boot. I played with crossovers until, to my ear, it was relatively balanced.

Just keep messing with it until it sounds good to your ears.

I think the problem is I don't really understand what I am messing with so when I adjust something I don't really know what the expected result should be
I have a decent ish alpine double din which has:
9-band Parametric Equalizer
Digital Time Correction
Digital Crossover Setting: 2Way / 3Way System
I also have Audison Prima 6.5 inch components up front and Audison Prima 6×9's in the rear deck. Massive improvement over what was there before.
So far the hip hop preset sounds best for most of my music and I have it faded +3 to the front. I reckon I could make it even better if I knew what I was doing

Are they running of the head unit or an standalone amplifier?
What's the exact model of tour headunit?
Parametric eq are more complicated but do a good fine tune. Ideal sound would be to have your front speakers playing 80-100hz upwards and have the rear 6x9 playing only 80-100hz downwards.
I have just "downgraded " my sound system from Hybrid Audio Legatia se speakers to Hybrid audio unity with 6x9 midbass acting as subs instead of.a dedicated subwoofer and it sounds outstanding. Saved around 14kg with this setup.

I know they would sound even better with an amp but I am well happy with the improvement over the clarion and pioneer speakers which were in there
