White paint code question..

Post by bb1boy » Mon Jun 11, 2012 9:55 am

Hi guys,

Can I have some help with my paint code please?

I know my code is NH-538 Frost White ..but upon searching for that paint it seems there are variations on the colour depending on what year/factory the car was painted in. According to paintscratch.com there is an 11th digit on my VIN which denotes this variation.

My problem is the JDM VIN ..which is not set out the same way as the website says it should be. Mine is BB4-xxxxxx3 (obv. the x's aren't there, I just don't want to plaster my whole VIN on the web). If you start counting at the first B in BB4 then the 10th digit is a 3, there is no 11th. Or should I go with the H22A-xxxxxx9, with the 9 being the 11th digit? It's just that I thought the VIN was the top one and the engine number was the bottom one, but I don't know for sure.

Also does anyone have favourite shades of Honda white paint? I saw a ITR yesterday and that was almost yellow compared to my Frost White 'lude..

Thanks in advance!
Adam

Different paint manufactures have different variation codes so its irrelivant. From experience you will need a darker carient of frost white as its an old colour and car.
Itr are championship white and contain more yellow where frost white has a tad more blue.
Best white imo is white diamond pearl but that's a 3 stage colour.

Cool, thanks for that, mate! I think I'll stick to Frost White in that case, the Diamond White Pearl may be a bit too involved considering my car is being painted more or less for free.
