H22A8 5g/ Type-S intake into a 4g?

Post by chrismc » Sat Aug 18, 2012 1:53 pm

Has anyone tried such an intake on a 4g?

I may have an opportunity to try my brothers OEM 5g A8 dual chamber intake with K&N panel filter (he now has a K&N typhoon) in place of the AEM V1 CAI currently fitted in our 4g track car...

Just wondering if anyone has tried it & if it offered any gains over the stock 4g intake?

Seems these dual chamber intakes are quite sought-after!

Cheers

I have the dual intake chamber with K&N filter in my 4G.
It does seem to breathe better, although I've never had a dyno.
They are considered to be comparable to the AEM V2.

One thing to note. They are not the best fit.
Mine rubs on the underside of the bonnet, although I do still have the liner in place. :geek:

Looks good!

Straight fit into the 4g? Not too bothered if the fit isn't perfect as its a track car

Also do you still run the stock resonator setup- ours is long gone so we'd have the lower part of the airbox open to the inner wing....

Yes, it all fits together in there quite snugly.
I still have the resonator in place. :geek:
