Hi all,
If anyone has been following my posts you'll have seen that I've had a few problems with the running of this car since I bought it 2 months ago. We have now sorted everything (leaking manifold/downpipe, air intake etc) but still have one irritating problem.
The engine light was always coming on before all the repairs were made. We've reset the ecu. Now it only comes on occassionally. Strangely enough it usually seems to happen on one particular road at one certain place.... maybe something to do with speed, revs, load etc?....... Otherwise I may just have to find a new route home! lol
Can anyone suggest why this is happening or how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Alison

Pull the codes - they're stored even if the light goes back out again. Guide here:

Im guessing its a bumpy road so it could just be a loose connection at the ecu you could check the connections in the passenger footwell and make sure its all plugged in securely - also check no wires are trapped anywhere- but as others say you may want to pull codes and check it that way.

If it takes time, and this is a wild guess here, the O2 sensor may be on it's way out and kicking up a fault now and again. Or possibly an ABS sensor if it's fitted to your car. The codes are easy to get (you only need a paperclip) and the Prelude manual tells you every code and what to look at and how to test etc. Sorry to hear you've had issues but once they're sorted and you continue to look after the 'lude it will be the most reliable car going. Fingers crossed the code comes up with a simple/cheap fix
