Tokico shocks - same ride height with stock springs?

Post by Angus » Thu Apr 25, 2013 3:33 pm

Just what it says.

Now that I have a spare set of OEM shocks/springs, I was thinking of transferring the OEM springs onto the Tokico shocks that have been lying in my garage for long enough. (As if I haven't enough sensible things to do. :P )

Tokicos look to be the same length as stock dampers.

I'm assuming this plan wouldn't alter my ride height / ground clearance, being that it'd be the stock springs.

Am i right, or a meringue?

I think you'll end up with standard ride height but firmer damping.. I don't know how the soft springs will react though. I know stiff springs on soft (standard) shocks produces the Kangaroo effect.. maybe it will just be a slow bounce instead.
