Carmageddon

Post by Confused » Wed May 16, 2012 10:22 pm

My prayers have been answered!

Yes, the game that took up countless hours of my youth, Carmageddon, is back! The memories of racing around, driving over old people who shouted "I was in the war!"

This intro still sends shivers down my spine!

Stainless Games, the original developer, have finally got the rights back to the franchise, and are working on a brand new game!!

However - they're looking for some support to raise some additional funds for the project.

This is being done via the Carmageddon: Reincarnation Kickstarter page - where you can pledge to help the project.

For just $15 you'll get the FULL game via Steam - I'd gladly pay more for it, which is why I've pledged $25 so far (I may still up it!) which will also get me beta access to the game!

If you ever played the original, and want another installation of an excellent game, which will hopefully capture the spirit and humour of the original game, please, please, please pledge some money on Kickstarter, and enjoy an awesome game! :)

Looking at the original disc sat next to me on my desk as we speak  I found it recently in a box of stuff and didn't have the heart to get rid of it!

Hours spent on both games, don't think I ever completed a lap, just mowed down pedestrians and killed cars :D

I used to play Carmageddon on the pc with my lad sat on my lap.

I got in jobby with the Missus when one day he was at play group in a Little Tikes Crazy Coupe, shouted out "Carmageddon!!!" and then proceeded to run down the other kids.

I got banned from playing it with my lad in the room from that day forward.

Woooo!!! I gotta see if I can download Carmageddon for my laptop. I loved playing that as a kid :D

I did make the mistake though when younger of watching the film by the same name that came from some southern part of America, and it turned out to be a snuff film.......... I thought the graphics in the film were a bit good for the time :?
