Their own branded stuff is crap, the other stuff they supply is good though.
I stumbled across the Honda Diaries stuff a few months back and found it pretty entertaining tbh. I can't say I thought of anyone in it as a "chav". From what I saw they were a group of people a fair bit younger than myself, but just interested in working on specifically Honda stuff (the name gave that bit away). From seeing what was done to the car I can't see it being any more removed from being "chav" like. OEM style, stripped out a bit, but no garish body kits or daft wheels - just clean looks and quite nicely done. Lowered, Regamasters and coilovers. If that's chav then I'm well out of date with what is acceptable these days.
From seeing his friends vehicles also featured in some episodes this also seemed to be continued through their builds too - clean OEM style with nothing chavvy at all. And builds being done at home with no ragging around car parks or key banging at McDonalds. They've also featured some other companies in the Honda scene along the way who are decent people that I've dealt with before and it's nice to see them getting some promotion too.
Attitudes featured on there too - some acerbic comments about some of the cars seen at the Mimms meets and things like that, I'd say they seemed about as far removed as chavs as possible but perhaps I missed something? If by chav this just means people who are younger and have cars and fashionable haircuts then chavs they are.
As for stuff for sale from them - crap? what specifically? they do some clothing, gearnobs and wheel nuts that are 6two1 branded, and now coilovers too - I can't see how these can be called crap unless there is some real negative feedback or reviews that are being hidden. Not that I've searched extensively for reviews, but their Facebook page is open to comments so you'd think that there would be some reports on there if the stuff was crap.
I've spoken to Adam a few times via internet links and he seems about as decent and completely not up his own arse as anyone I've ever spoken to in the scene. Never once did the impression seem that he thought himself famous or some kind of celebrity. Maybe he hoodwinked me and he's a total nobend but I've not got an inkling of that yet.
My view is good luck to him - he's put his money into setting up a business and if the coilovers are as decent as reports say then it's a pretty decent achievement for a small business like that. As well as the other stuff that's imported and sold.
I know nothing of the meet/revving incident but if that did happen the way it was described it sounds a bit lame. Having said that though if it was a few years ago and at the time the person in question was pretty young it might go some way to explain it. I know I did some pretty stupid stuff with cars when I was younger (still do from time to time).
Can understand if people have personal issues with him that have arisen from situations that haven't been made public, but to discount someone's business efforts and products as "crap" without any actual justification given is lame. Especially from another company in the same game. At least give some examples rather than just a blanket "crap".
