Has anyone got one of these web TV boxes? If so are they any good? Something like this:

Does your tv in the bedroom have HDMI? If so, definitely try a Chromecast!

Yeah having a read through the Chromecast blurb it seems this is not the kind of thing I am after. Essentially I want a cheap "Sky box" thing that will stream online content by itself, not streaming from another device. Connecting to Chromecast from an IOS device looks to be too complicated for the wife, she'll just end up not using it.

Really? Do apple make it that bad?
On my phone, I have a push to chromecast button available pretty much all the time, when I hit it it even changes the channel on the TV to HDMI 3 where the chromecast is plugged in. Nice thing is you can show photos etc from your phone too.
TBH, if it works the same way as it does on android, I'd say if she can use her phone she can use chromecast
