Central Locking + Immobiliser

Post by Wayne2014 » Sun Dec 14, 2014 8:04 pm

1. How do I check if my 3G has an immobiliser?

2. My 3G has central locking
- where can I go to get remote central locking installed?
- how much these days?

Thanks

Will any kit work?
As some say "not work on cable system central lockings..."

That one will work, I have it.

You need to interface it with the remote door locking - I used the three wires that come out of the lock/unlock switch on the drivers door, and mounted the whole control unit in the door.

Cheers mate

Having spoke to my garage - they say i need solenoids too.

But eBay ones like yours (without solenoids) called it an UPGRADE KIT if u have existing central locking (like mine).

So confused???

You don't need solenoids if the car already has the gubbins for central locking (i.e. all door operate with a key), you just need a device to do this remotely. And as alinton says, that's just a matter of wiring to the existing lock/unlock switch.

If you can lock/unlock the driver's door from the key in the passenger door, then you'll have full central locking, and can easily connect up a cheap kit.

If you can't do that, then you may well need a solenoid for the driver's door.

ive often thought about getting my oem remote central locking fixed
was always good to have this especially during the winter months so you dont have to worry about iced up locks

The first mod I did to my car, many many moon ago!
Mine is a UK 4th so had a fob for the alarm/immob and the key for the central locking.
Was able to find out that the manufacturer that had the contract at the time was Hamilton and Palmer.
Bought the little box and a solenoid/fitting kit for the drivers door from them, all fitted in a couple of hours, all works off the fob, still working great 12 years on. 8-)
