Yeah im tempted to go out and just have a play for a while, someone else recommeded slamming it into first and second for a while. and someone with the same problem said they took it to honda and they just forced it in and it was fine afterwards.

Im just worried about doing more damage!

My mistake it's not the fork that reverse shares with 5th, it's the actual shift piece and pin, the pin holds the tolerance and is the weak point of the the shift fork thus compensating the limits of the fork if the selector is put under unneacesary load?

The worst itl probs do is bend the reverse fork. Guessing it's the pin that's moved the reverse fork slightly put of position and that's why it won't select.

See with moving it around a bit and getting it to grind it feels like it might go back in and be ok.

And yeah i think i get what you are saying stevelar_granolar, all a bit complicated for me though! lol.

Haha! Good luck mate! I pulled and refurbed my ax gt gearbox, I had that sinking filling when I first cracked it open. Had a few gearboxes open, but never a lude, i was just trying to find route cause of your issue judging from the manual pics...

Well after some slamming into first and second for a while, then a bit of forcing into reverse, i now have reverse back again.

It still doesnt feel right though, like its still hard to get in and it feels like the stick is only going 3/4 of the way in. when i first got it to reverse it would slip out if i didnt hold the stick, but seems to be ok now.
Also it was getting stuck in reverse after i had used it and really had to hammer the stick to get it out, but again that seems to be improving.

The other gears feel like they are popping into place a bit more now, not grinding or anything nasty, just sort of popping.
Its always done it, i figured it was just the way it was ment to be, but feels like a louder pop now.

Will keep the thread updated over the next few days and i guess i will put out the feelers for a replacement gearbox just incase. but fingers crossed it will just get better with time like a lot of people say it does :?
