Glad it's not the engine running out of oil mate, I only mention it as my Accord was in limp mode one night as the engine managed to lose most of it's oil on a dual carriageway... I ended up putting a piston rod through the block, and then the oil light came on
Thanks for heads up on that one lmao. I allways check my oil as i no these cars like to drink the stuff haha

just carefully remove the gauze filter and seal and give it a good blast with some carb cleaner - spray some inside the solenoid - put it all back together and that should be that. You might want to check the condition of the seal and replace it if brittle or broken - think theyre about £30 and a Honda only part although you could probably get it cheaper from somewhere like Htune or Vtec direct.

I removed that post  but yes I used no oil and was just below the top marker when i changed my oil the other week there, mates old bb4 used no oil either.
thats why when we removed the rocker cover on your green lude it was thick black gunk all over the place

I use a relatively cheap 10w-40 oil and go for frequent oil changes - nothing makes a lude happier than that ;)

Cleaned solenoid out but only the sivvy pan bit. Instant vtec again. 2 hours of driving and same problem again. This time ill give it a real good going over with brake cleaner. Fingers crossed that i just didnt give it a good enough clean!
